The pingdemic is affecting growing numbers of holidaymakers. 
Whilst nine out of ten insurers will cover the cost of cancelled holidays if the policyholder tests positive for Covid, for cases of self-isolation, cover falls to fewer than six in ten policies. 
 
Hundreds of thousands of people have been pinged by the NHS app or contacted by the tracing service and holiday plans are scuppered by contracting Covid, or coming into close contact with someone who has the virus. 
 
It is important to carefully read your policies to fully understand what cover is included. If you are in any doubt, you can contact the insurer before changing travel plans.
