Celebrating 30 Years at Hedon Insurance

Anne remembers her interview very clearly as her eldest daughter was just two weeks old when she saw the job advert in the local newspaper for an Insurance advisor at the new branch opening soon in Hornsea. Anne thought it would be great to be able to work so close to home. However, she told Mike Medforth, (then owner of Hedon Insurance) that she wouldn’t be able to start for another six months. He agreed, and Anne joined the firm to work with Ann Sheppard, who is also still working at the Hedon branch and Richard Medforth, who has since set up HI Commercial, which provides insurance to businesses and commercial organisations. 

 

Anne was ambitious from the start and said: “I’ve been really happy at Hedon Insurance since joining in 1993 as an insurance advisor. I managed that branch until 1997, when I was appointed as a Director of the company and became Managing Director in 2006 when Mike retired." 

 

“It has always been important for me to keep Insurance on the high street, to give local people excellent job opportunities and to provide a first-class personal service to people in the local area. We know from ongoing feedback that this is important to our clients too.” 

 

In her spare time, Anne enjoys going on holiday and spending time with her family, her young granddaughter and two dogs, Cookie and Sika.
