Working from home was the norm during the pandemic, but as life continues to get back to ‘normal’ many people choose to continue, or to use a hybrid model.

This is reducing travel time, commuter costs and some people feel they can be more productive when working from home. But have you checked if your home insurance is affected since it became a permanent arrangement?

In most cases working from home for clerical use only, should not affect your home insurance policy, although you should notify your insurance company.

If you are running a business from home that is not clerical only, your insurer will need to know the business type and whether you have any visitors relating to the business going to your home.

By informing your insurance broker, we can check you are insured adequately and if any special terms apply.
